Homeopathy
Homeopathy
is an effective and scientific system of healing which assists the
natural tendency of the body to heal itself. It recognises that
symptoms of ill-health are expressions of imbalance in the whole
person.
For
many years homeopathic medicines have been recognised as a safe
and effective means of treating ill-health. The course of homeopathic
treatment consists of a first consultation lasting an hour or more,
with subsequent appointments of half an hour each. Follow up consultations
are usually monthly.
During
the first consultation you will have the opportunity to fully describe
your complaints and other factors which you feel affect your health.
Do
remember that anything you say is treated in strict confidence.
The homeopath forms a highly individualised picture of your well-being.
This detail is needed to assess the remedy to be prescribed.
The
remedy is prescribed either in a tablet or liquid form, with instructions
on how to take the remedy. Nothing else should be put in the mouth
for 15 minutes before or after take the remedy. It is important
to avoid strong smelling substances during the whole course of your
treatment, as these can interfere with your remedies, particularly
camphor, menthol, peppermint and eucalyptus.
Complicated
cases are cured from the inside, working outwards. This means that
outer symptoms, such as skin disorders are often the last to disappear.
Be patient: it is much better for you to be cured of both the cause
of your illness and its symptoms, rather than merely relieve the
symptoms.
